
Chicken Gyozas Recipe
Here’s a delicious chicken gyoza recipe for four people:
Ingredients:
For the Gyoza Filling:
- 500 Grams ground chicken
- 1 napa cabbage, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
For the Gyoza Wrappers:
- 32 round gyoza wrappers
- Water for sealing
For Dipping Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon chili sauce (optional)
For Cooking:
- 2-3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions:
Prepare the Gyoza Filling:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, chopped napa cabbage, minced garlic, minced ginger, green onions, sesame oil, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all theingredients are evenly combined.
Assemble the Gyoza:
- Place a gyoza wrapper in the palm of your hand.
- Wet the edges of the wrapper with water using your fingertip.
- Spoon about 1-2 teaspoons of the chicken filling in the center of the wrapper.
- Fold the wrapper in half and pinch the edges together to seal, creating a half-moon shape.
- Pleat the sealed edge to create a decorative pattern if desired. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
Make the Dipping Sauce:
- In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, sugar, and chili sauce (if you like it spicy). Adjust the seasoning to your taste.
Cook the Gyoza:
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add 2-3 tablespoons of vegetable oil.
- Place the gyoza in the skillet, flat side down. Allow them to cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
Steam the Gyoza:
- Carefully add 1/4 cup of water to the skillet.
- Immediately cover the skillet with a lid and reduce the heat to medium-low.
- Allow the gyoza to steam for about 6-8 minutes, or until the wrappers are translucent and the filling is cooked through.
Serve:
- Once the gyoza are cooked, remove the lid and let them cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, or until the bottoms become crispy.
- Carefully transfer the gyoza to a serving platter, golden side up.
- Serve the gyoza hot with the dipping sauce on the side.
