Baked Sesame Salmon
Baked Sesame Salmon for 4 People
Ingredients:
- 4 salmon fillets (approximately 6-8 ounces each)
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to your spice preference)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- In a medium-sized bowl, prepare the marinade by whisking together the soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, rice vinegar, sesame seeds, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes. This mixture will be used to marinate the salmon and later as a glaze.
- Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour half of the marinade over the salmon and marinate for 15-30 minutes in the refrigerator. Reserve the other half of the marinade for later.
- After marinating, remove the salmon from the dish or bag and place it on the prepared baking sheet. Season each fillet with a pinch of salt and black pepper.
- Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and has a slightly caramelized exterior.
- While the salmon is baking, transfer the reserved marinade to a small saucepan. Simmer over low heat until it thickens slightly, usually for 3-5 minutes. This will create a glaze for the salmon.
- Once the salmon is done, remove it from the oven and brush the thickened glaze over the fillets.
- Garnish the sesame salmon with sliced green onions, chopped cilantro (if desired), and lemon slices.
- Serve the baked sesame salmon hot, alongside your favorite side dishes such as steamed vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad. Enjoy your delicious homemade meal!
